Spring has Sprung for VMOA
Saturday, May 16th, was a beautiful spring day, perfect for the John Gehring Memorial Alice’s Restaurant ride. Like the Alice’s rides that John loved to organize, this one appropriately started where John started his rides, meeting at the Westmoor Village Shopping Center in Sunnyvale. After we all met and chatted a bit, the caravan started, led by Rob Lee. The ride proceeded through the beautiful Woodside country roads with the canopy of trees, making the ride that much more enjoyable. Once we arrived at Alice’s, our classic Mustangs enjoyed grazing in the parking lot among other gorgeous cars and motorcycles, while we all sat together on the rear deck enjoying our meals and engrossed in fun and interesting conversations for quite awhile. Did you know that two of our members went to college together at a school whose mascot was… yes, you got it, the Mustangs! It even came out that he proposed to her up a hill behind the college, of course we were all wondering what else happened up that hill, but we politely did not ask…maybe horsing around? All in all, a great time was had by all. There was even serious talk of adding more events to our already busy schedule for the year. We can’t wait to get back in the “saddle” again! Much thanks to Rob Lee for setting up this fabulous ride; the VMOA club gallops on!
